Moving on up

Sorry it’s been so quiet around here. I’ve got plenty of excuses, but my favorite one is that I’m in the process of moving my equipment to a new studio!

I’ve decided that since I’m going to start selling my clothes on a bigger scale, that maybe I should get a professional studio. Plus, as much as I love my cats, I’m tired of having to spend hours trying to remove all cat hair from the clothes I make!

Luckily, my building had an open room that is going to be perfect for a real studio workshop and it’s right up the stairs from my current apartment!

The photos aren’t much right now, but I’ll keep you updated on the progress as it goes. It should be pretty cool! Plus, Joe and I are going to set up a screen printing/graphics area in the large walk-in closet so that should be a lot of fun as well!

Ooh. That room looks really nice. I hope the move goes over really smoothly.

oeh spacy! It’ll certainly be less of a distraction than in your own apartment..

Wow, that looks like a really nice space! How lucky for you that it’s right above your current apartment. Good luck with moving into your new studio!

Oh awesome, there’s nothing better than a brand-new private work-space. I’m sure it will be great! Just be careful moving stuff with your bum foot.

The space looks great! It was really nice to meet you at IKEA this weekend. That cabinet that you were looking at was awesome; I hope you got it.

Hey Kat!
been wondering whats been going on with you- so excited to hear you are expanding! please keep us updated on when we can start checking out what we can purchase!

Cat hair is never fun… especially on wool sweaters.
Good luck with your studio!

Cool, it’s always nice to have a dedicated space to work in. We’re in the process of moving stuff around in the house to make dedicated space for my wife to sew in. She’s always had to work wherever there was space, and it’s not fair to her. I have a two car garage to do my woodworking in, so we’re building her a space for her stuff too.

Kat that is too awesome! I just had to say how cool it is to see a fellow Arts High grad doing so well (‘96 Lit)! Keep us all posted on how that studio goes! I so want to buy something of yours! You just have some of the best designs and they’re so wearable!

I'm currently loving ...

America's Best Dance Crew 2 While no one this season can compare to the JabbaWockeeZ, I'm still a big fan of this dance show (always wanted to be a dancer!).

Girl Talk "Feed the Animals" Okay... so the first time I saw this guy live, he was a bit of an a**hole to my friends band who opened for him, but I have to let that slide since I'm totally in love with this mix.

Bats for Lashes Saw this music video at the bike film festival this weekend and loved it. So simple and so creepy...

Flickr photos! lots of photos, especially of cats.

Across the Universe I wasn't sold the first time I watched this, but then I couldn't stop thinking about it and now I'm loving it! Definitely gets you in the mood for some Beatles music.

The Office I know... I'm late to the game, but I can't get enough of The Office right now!

Nortec Collective 5 guys on laptops + 1 trumpet + 1 accoridan... Ranks at the top of my list for best live shows ever, right up there with Radiohead and Flaming Lips.

Knit Book; Basics & Beyond I want to make some hats and I use to know how to knit, but need a refresher. This is a great book that covers a lot of info and has TONS of good pictures (great to learn from).

Bamboo Fabric Store I'm trying to move my Spring '08 collection into the green by using organic and/or sustainable fabrics. I found all my new bamboo jersey fabrics here and I'm totally in love with them!

Project Runway 3 DVD I got this for Christmas and am still too scared to watch it! I've heard that I'm shown on the DVD a lot more than I was on the season... eek!
