Bands vs. Fans

So a few weeks ago, my boyfriend (and web master) Joe and a couple of my other friends (Allie, Craig & Abby) participated in the “Bands vs. Fans” bowling tournament (or was it a party? I don’t know…it certainly seemed more like a party). It was part of the 2006 Sound Unseen film and music festival.

There were 8 local bands playing against 8 teams of fans (“The Young Wives” being our team)... I say our team because I didn’t really feel like sewing that day and decided to become the official manager-photographer-scorekeeper for the Young Wives. No one asked me to be on the team. I just decided I would be. Sadly though, the only time I actually bowled was the 2 times I subbed in for one of the guys on the Alarmists and managed to get both a spare and a strike against my own adopted team! Oh well… bloody mary’s were drunk, bowling persued, friends were made and a fun time was had by all!

Thanks to the bands we got to play with:

Mel Gibson & the Pants. That is one of the best band names I’ve ever heard.

A spare and a strike? Wow, that’s really good. The last time I went bowling I got like—a five. lol

Hey, do you think you will ever do a topic where you say some topics you would like to see on the show? It would be cool to see soeone who has been on PR state what they think.

I'm currently loving ...

America's Best Dance Crew 2 While no one this season can compare to the JabbaWockeeZ, I'm still a big fan of this dance show (always wanted to be a dancer!).

Girl Talk "Feed the Animals" Okay... so the first time I saw this guy live, he was a bit of an a**hole to my friends band who opened for him, but I have to let that slide since I'm totally in love with this mix.

Bats for Lashes Saw this music video at the bike film festival this weekend and loved it. So simple and so creepy...

Flickr photos! lots of photos, especially of cats.

Across the Universe I wasn't sold the first time I watched this, but then I couldn't stop thinking about it and now I'm loving it! Definitely gets you in the mood for some Beatles music.

The Office I know... I'm late to the game, but I can't get enough of The Office right now!

Nortec Collective 5 guys on laptops + 1 trumpet + 1 accoridan... Ranks at the top of my list for best live shows ever, right up there with Radiohead and Flaming Lips.

Knit Book; Basics & Beyond I want to make some hats and I use to know how to knit, but need a refresher. This is a great book that covers a lot of info and has TONS of good pictures (great to learn from).

Bamboo Fabric Store I'm trying to move my Spring '08 collection into the green by using organic and/or sustainable fabrics. I found all my new bamboo jersey fabrics here and I'm totally in love with them!

Project Runway 3 DVD I got this for Christmas and am still too scared to watch it! I've heard that I'm shown on the DVD a lot more than I was on the season... eek!
