Red Carpet, Blue Carpet. One Carpet, Two Carpet.

So this past week has been a whirlwind! I got to advance my new celebrity status (don’t worry mom…I’m just joking, my head is only slightly bigger than it was 6 months ago, I measured it) by attending not one, but TWO red carpets! Well, actually one of them was blue, but you get the concept.

Last Friday was the “Road to the Runway” party that Bravo held at Outfest LA. I stayed with my friend Jen and she came with me to the party. When we pulled up, I saw Kayne and Robert hanging out outside and of course like the nerd I am, stuck my head out the window and yelled and waved at them like a complete dork! Oh well…I am what I am. So, there’s a point to telling you this; there was a line outside the “velvet” rope and no one was being let in. I noticed that Robert and Kayne were inside and on the red carpet. So, figuring that I’m on the show, I head up to the security guys, tell them I’m in the cast and what do they do? Send me to the back of the line! So I start to head back to the line, then realize that I really am supposed to be inside and try again…no luck. I think this happened like 4 times before a producer or someone saw me and let me in. Guess I don’t really look all that famous…better try harder!

The red carpet was crazy. I wish someone had given me “carpet etiquette” or something! I had no idea what to do and there were like 30 photographers all yelling at me… “Katherine over here!” “Katherine look this way!” “Katherine…Katherine…Katherine!!!” The funniest thing is that you feel all special with everyone yelling at you like your famous, until you realize that a women was standing in the front and had shown them a piece of paper with my name on it when I walked up! Ha!

The party was pretty fun. It’s not too often (okay, like never) that I get to party at a super hot club and meet a bunch of former PR cast. The shocker of the night was that Santino was REALLY nice! Who woulda’ thunk! I went up to introduce myself and he knew who I was and said he was excited to see what I come up with on the show. We didn’t talk for long because it was really loud in there and he’s about 9 feet tall, so he had to bend all the way over to talk to me!

The next party was in NY the night before the show aired (Thanks to mom who got me tickets to both parties. You’re the best!). By then I was an old pro at the red carpet and knew what to do, that was until Heidi showed up! Damn…what girl wants to stand next to Heidi in a photo? Especially if that girl is only 5’1” and let’s just say NOT model skinny! It was fun though. Heidi is really nice and we got some cool group shots.

The party was very cool! I got to meet and hang out with more former PR cast including Jay, Danielle V, Diana (who let me crash at her place. Thanks!) and Emmett (who is probably the sweetest guy ever). Later some of us ended up hanging out at Happy Valley and partying it up! I also met some other really fun people, Brad being one of them who took some cool photos.
