My Summer "Top 10" Day 2
Top Summer Moment #2: Cheese in Vermont!
While teaching at Excel (see yesterday’s post), this summer, we would go on excursion trips each weekend (I got to go to Montreal, Burlington VT and Providence RI). On the way up to Burlington most students and staff rode on a bus, but I got to take a small side trip with 3 vans and go “cheesing” in Vermont! We stopped at 3 local cheese farms and got to sample their goods and wander around. The first farm had some amazing sheep’s cheese and made me realize that I really like sheep’s cheese! I guess I had always thought it was similar to goat’s cheese, but it’s more like a good sharp cheddar. The other 2 farms had traditional cow’s cheeses, but were also super yummy! It was a lot of fun to drive through rural Vermont and see the countryside. The cheese trip was definitely a top highlight of my summer.
These are the farms I got to visit:
Vermont Shepherd
Grafton Village Cheese
Taylor Farm
